What is BillBook?
BillBook is POS and business software made in Sri Lanka. It covers billing, stock, purchasing, accounting, customers and reports, with extra modules for restaurants, pharmacies, repair shops, hotels and manufacturers.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card: 1 outlet, 2 users, unlimited products and 300 invoices a month. Paid plans start at Starter.
Can my staff use BillBook in Sinhala or Tamil?
Yes. Each user can work in Sinhala, Tamil or English, and SMS messages to customers can be sent in any of the three.
Does BillBook work without internet?
Not yet. Today BillBook runs in your web browser and needs an internet connection. Apps for Windows and Android that keep billing offline are coming soon.
Does it handle VAT and SSCL?
BillBook has presets for VAT at 18% and SSCL at 2.5%. Add your VAT number when you register and the VAT rate is set up for you, and the tax report shows your input and output tax. Invoices in the IRD tax-invoice format are coming soon.
What hardware do I need?
Any computer or tablet with a web browser. BillBook works with USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners, 58 mm and 80 mm thermal receipt printers, cash drawers and label printers. You can buy tested hardware from our shop.
Can I move my data from Excel or another POS?
Yes. Products, customers, suppliers and opening stock can be imported from Excel. On yearly Growth and Business plans we do the import for you.
