2018
The Idea
Inspired by the inefficiency of paper billing at a family hardware store, the concept for a simple digital billing system was born.
2019
Development Begins
Development started at SLIIT. A working prototype was completed by year end.
2020
Mr POS Launches
Version 1 launched commercially as "Mr POS", onboarding its first wave of businesses. V2 released within the year.
2021
Growing Fast
The client base grew quickly. V3 released with enhanced reporting and inventory features.
2022
BillBook Is Born
Rebranded as BillBook with a fresh identity as the business kept scaling. The orange "bb" mark was introduced.
2023
V4 & Analytics
V4 launched with advanced analytics. V5 development begins with a focus on AI-powered insights.
2024
Scaling Up
BillBook expanded across Sri Lanka while the team refined V4 and laid the groundwork for the next generation of the platform.
