Label Weighing Scale Integration

The Label Weighing Scale feature allows businesses to automatically read product weight from barcode labels, ensuring accurate sales transactions in grocery stores, butcher shops, and other weight-based businesses.

Enabling Weighing Scale Integration

• Go to → Settings → Business Settings → POS
• Check Enable Weighing Scale
• Enter the required settings:
  • Prefix (e.g., 25)
  • Product SKU Length (e.g., 4)
  • Quantity Integer Part Length (e.g., 2)
  • Quantity Fractional Part Length (e.g., 2)
• Click Save

Using the Weighing Scale in POS

Step 1: Go to the POS screen

Step 2: Click on the Weighing Scale button next to the Product SKU search field

Step 3: Scan or enter the barcode generated by the weighing scale

Step 4: If the barcode matches the settings, the product is added with the correct weight

The system automatically calculates the total price based on weight & unit price.

Example of a Weighing Scale Barcode

If your weighing scale generates the barcode 2512343550, and your settings are:

• Prefix: 25
• Product SKU Length: 4
• Quantity Integer Part Length: 2
• Quantity Fractional Part Length: 2

Barcode breakdown: 25 (Prefix) + 1234 (Product SKU) + 35.50 (Weight in kg)

BillBook will automatically add SKU 1234 with a quantity of 35.50.
