Business Settings in BillBook allow users to configure essential business details, tax settings, sales preferences, and inventory controls to match their operational needs. 🚀🏢


📌 Business Information Settings #

Go toSettings → Business Settings

Here, you can configure:

  • Business Name 🏢
  • Start Date 📅
  • Default Profit Margin 💰
  • Currency & Timezone 🌍
  • Business Logo 🖼️
  • Financial Year Start (January/April) 📊
  • Tax Information 🏷️

🔢 Product SKU Prefix #

✅ Enable Product SKU Prefix to auto-generate SKU numbers with a prefix.
✅ If enabled, the system will automatically append the prefix when adding new products.

📌 Example: If the prefix is “BB-“, the SKU for a new product could be BB-001.


💰 Default Discounts & Credit Limits #

Business Setting → Contact → Default Credit Limit

  • Sets the default credit limit for new customers & suppliers.

Business Setting → Sale → Default Sale Discount

  • The default discount applied to all sales in POS & Add Sales Screen.

🛒 Sales Settings & POS Preferences #

Sales Item Addition Method:

  • Add item in a new row → Adds products separately in the POS cart.
  • Increase item quantity if it already exists → Updates the quantity instead of adding a new row.

Amount Rounding Method:

  • Defines whether product prices should be rounded to whole numbers or decimals.

Minimum Selling Price Restriction:

  • Prevents selling below the set selling price.
  • Can sell at a higher price but not lower.

Enable Inline Tax:

  • Shows price including tax on the POS screen.
  • Go to Business Settings → Tax → Enable Inline Tax.

Enable Sales Order:

  • Enables the Sales Order feature for managing customer pre-orders.

🔄 Editing Transactions & DataTable Preferences #

Limit for Transaction Edits:

  • Set the number of days within which transactions can be edited (default: 30 days).
  • Increase this in Business Settings if required.

Datatable Entry Selection:

  • Set the default number of entries displayed per page in reports.

📦 Inventory & Overselling Control #

Allow Overselling of Products:

  • Enable this option to sell products even when they are out of stock.
  • Warning: If overselling occurs, profit may show as negative for those products.

📌 Useful for businesses that accept pre-orders or backorders.
