🔹 Handling Change Return in POS Transactions #
Example Scenario: #
- Total Invoice Amount: LKR 250
- Customer Pays: LKR 300 (in cash)
- Change to be Returned: LKR 50
📌 Steps to Process Change Return in BillBook: #
✅ Step 1: Click “Multiple Pay” on the POS screen.
✅ Step 2: Enter the amount paid by the customer (LKR 300).
✅ Step 3: The system will automatically calculate the “Change Return” amount (LKR 50).
✅ Step 4: Click “Finalize” to save the sale.
✅ Step 5: The change return amount is printed on the invoice.
📌 Customizing the Invoice Label for Change Return:
✅ Go to → Settings → Invoice Layout
✅ Edit the “Change Return Label” to a custom label (e.g., Balance Due, Refund, Customer Change).
✅ Click “Save” 💾
🔄 Changing Payment Method and Payment Account for Change Return #
By default, the change return amount is given in cash, but BillBook allows you to return it via any payment method.
✅ While processing the sale, select the Change Return Payment Method (Cash, Card, Wallet, etc.).
✅ Select the Payment Account for tracking the change return.
📌 Example Use Cases:
- If a customer overpays via Card, the extra amount can be refunded via Cash or Store Credit.
- If the business allows store credit refunds, this can be recorded as a future balance for the customer.

✅ If a sale return is processed, change return can be used to refund the customer.
✅ Go to → Sales → Edit Invoice
✅ Adjust the refund amount and select the return payment method.
