1 min read

BillBook provides flexible tax settings, allowing businesses to apply single or multiple tax rates, create tax groups, or disable tax entirely if not required. 🚀💰

🔹 Tax Rates (Adding & Managing) #

Go toSettings → Tax Rates
✅ Click “Add”
✅ Enter:

  • Tax Name (e.g., VAT@5%)
  • Tax Rate (%) (e.g., 5%)
    ✅ Click Save 💾

📌 Now, the tax can be selected during sales and purchases.

🔄 Tax Groups (Combining Multiple Taxes) #

Sometimes, businesses need to apply multiple taxes on invoices or purchases. BillBook allows creating Tax Groups to combine multiple tax rates.

Go toSettings → Tax Groups
✅ Click “Add”
✅ Enter:

  • Tax Group Name (e.g., GST – CGST+SGST)
  • Select Sub-Taxes to be included (e.g., CGST@5% + SGST@5%)
    ✅ Click Save 💾

📌 The total tax rate for the group will be the sum of all selected sub-taxes.

🔹 Example:

  • CGST@5% + SGST@5% = GST@10%
  • If a sub-tax is edited, the tax group rate updates automatically.
  • You cannot delete a tax if it is used in a tax group.

🚫 Disabling Tax in BillBook #

If your business doesn’t require tax calculations, you can disable tax entirely.
