1 min read

Easily manage bulk products with BillBook’s Import & Export feature! You can import products in bulk from an Excel file or export your product list for record-keeping. 📊📦

📥 Importing Products #

📝 Steps to Import Products: #

Go toProducts → Import Products
Download the template file 📥
✅ Fill in all product details according to the column names & instructions.
Do NOT remove the headings in the template file.
✅ Import the file into BillBook 📤

🚨 Common Import Errors & Fixes #

❌ Error: UNIT not found #

Solution: Ensure the unit name in your Excel file matches a unit already present in the system.
Fix: Go toProducts → Units and add the missing unit, then re-import the file.

❌ Error: Separation Symbol Not Found #

Solution: Format your Expiry Date column in Excel as Text, and enter the date in the MM-DD-YYYY format (e.g., 11-25-2018).

❌ “Not Well-Defined” Errors (e.g., Non-Numeric Value Encountered) #

Solution:

  • If you get generic errors, try splitting your import file into smaller files.
  • Example: If you’re importing 500 products, split them into two files of 250 each and re-import.

📤 Exporting Products #

BillBook allows you to export your product list in Excel or PDF format.

Go toList Products
✅ Click on the “Download Excel” button
✅ Your product list will be downloaded instantly!

💡 You can now export products in the same format as the import template, making it easier to edit and re-import products.

🚫 Removing Action Column from Export File #

Sometimes, when exporting, the “Actions” column is included in your Excel, CSV, or PDF.

✅ To remove it, use the Column Visibility feature in BillBook before exporting.

With BillBook’s Import & Export feature, managing bulk product data has never been easier! 🚀📦
