🍽️ Setting Up BillBook for Restaurants, Salons, Service Centers & Morecenter & others

BillBook provides specialized modules to help businesses like restaurants, salons, and service centers manage tables, bookings, staff, kitchen orders, and modifiers efficiently. 🚀🏢


🔹 Enabling Business-Specific Modules #

Go toSettings → System Settings
✅ Enable the following modules:

  • Tables 🏷️
  • Service Staff 👨‍🍳
  • Modifiers
  • Kitchen 🍽️

📌 Note:

  • Enabling Tables & Service Staff automatically enables Bookings.
  • This also enables Table Reports & Service Staff Reports in the system.

🛒 Table Module (For Restaurants & Cafés) #

Tables allow businesses to assign orders to specific tables for dine-in customers.

Go toSettings → Table
✅ Click Add Table
✅ Enter:

  • Business Location 📍
  • Table Name (e.g., Table 5, VIP Table)
  • Short Description (Optional) 📝
    ✅ Click Save 💾

📌 Tables will now be available in the POS screen to take orders for specific tables.


👨‍🍳 Service Staff (Waiters, Barbers, Technicians, etc.) #

Service staff can be assigned to orders and track their assigned tasks.

Go toUser Management → Roles
✅ Click Create or Edit Role
✅ Check the “Service Staff” permission checkbox ✅
✅ Assign this role to employees who handle orders.

📌 Now, service staff can view & manage assigned orders in the “Orders” menu.

Assign Service Staff to Individual Products in POS #

Go toSettings → Business Settings → POS
✅ Enable “Service Staff in Product Line”
✅ Click Save 💾

📌 Now, different staff members can be assigned to each product in a sale.


📅 Bookings (For Restaurants, Salons, & Service Centers) #

Bookings allow businesses to schedule customer appointments.

Go toBookings (Left Menu)
✅ View “Today’s Bookings” 📅
✅ Use the Calendar View to double-click on any date & add a booking.
✅ Fill in:

  • Location 📍
  • Customer Name 👤
  • Correspondent 📝
  • Table/Service Staff (if applicable) 👨‍🍳
  • Start & End Time
    ✅ Send a notification to the customer (Optional).

📌 Now, bookings will be managed within BillBook with assigned staff & tables.


🛠️ Modifiers (For Add-ons Like Extra Cheese, Special Requests, etc.) #

Modifiers help businesses add customizations to products (e.g., Extra Cheese for Pizza).

Go toSettings → Modifiers
✅ Click Add Modifier
✅ Enter:

  • Modifier Set Name (e.g., “Cheese”)
  • Modifier Options & Prices (e.g., “Single” – LKR 10, “Double” – LKR 17)
    ✅ Click Save 💾

Assign Modifier to Products

  • Click Manage Product next to the modifier.
  • Select the products that can use this modifier (e.g., Pizza, Burger).

📌 Now, in POS, when a product is selected, applicable modifiers will appear for selection.


🍽️ Kitchen Module (For Restaurant Order Management) #

The Kitchen module allows restaurants to manage food preparation efficiently.

Go toKitchen (Left Menu)
✅ Orders placed in POS will now appear in the Kitchen Screen.
✅ Orders can be marked as “Cooked” when ready.
✅ The order status updates automatically for service staff.

📌 Now, orders move smoothly from POS → Kitchen → Service Staff.


🔄 Auto-Refresh Kitchen & Order Screen #

✅ By default, the Kitchen & Order screens refresh every 600 seconds (10 minutes).
✅ To change this:

  • Open the file pos/config/constants.php
  • Change orders_refresh_interval to the desired number (in seconds).

📌 Now, the system will refresh orders at the configured interval.
