Idea Conception
June: Inspired by the inefficiencies of paper-based invoicing at my father’s hardware store, the idea for BillBook was born.

Development and Prototyping
January: Started my IT degree at SLIIT and initiated the development of the software.
July: Completed the prototype for what would later be known as BillBook V1, initiating user testing and refinement.
2020
Official Launch and Market Entry
January: Launched Mr POS, the commercial release of BillBook V1, targeting local small businesses.
June: Secured 12 clients, confirming the market need for an efficient billing solution.
December: Released BillBook V2, incorporating crucial feedback from early users and enhancing functionality.
2021
Growth and Pivotal Decisions
June: Doubled our client base to 24, even amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.
December: Released BillBook V3 with improved reporting and customer management tools.
2022
Rebranding as BillBook
June: Launched BillBook V3 under the new brand name, featuring improved functionalities and a more user-friendly interface.
December: Expanded to 32 clients, underlining strong market acceptance and growth.
2023
Release of BillBook V4 and Planning for the Future
June: Launched BillBook V4, offering significant enhancements in analytics, user interface, and system integrations.
December: Feedback on V4 was overwhelmingly positive, and development of BillBook V5 began, targeting AI features for enhanced decision-making support.

Innovation and Preparation for AI Integration
June: Continued refinement of BillBook V4 and ongoing development for the integration of AI capabilities in BillBook V5.
