BillBook allows you to delete products, but certain conditions apply. If a product has transactions (e.g., Sales, Purchases, Stock Transfers), it cannot be deletedโinstead, you can deactivate it. ๐๐ฆ
๐จ Important Note on Deleting Products #
โ Products with transactions CANNOT be deleted.
โ
Transactions include:
- Opening Stock ๐
- Purchases ๐
- Sales ๐๏ธ
- Stock Transfers ๐
If a product has transactions, attempting to delete it will show an error message:
โ โProduct canโt be deleted because purchases related to this product existโ
โ โSome products couldnโt be deleted because they have transaction records.โ
๐ก Solution: Instead of deleting, deactivate the product if it’s no longer in use.
๐๏ธ Deleting an Individual Product #
โ
Go to โ Products โ List Products
โ
Find the product you want to delete.
โ
Click on the Actions button โ Select “Delete”
โ
If the product has no transactions, it will be successfully deleted.
โ
If it has transactions, you will see an error message.
๐๏ธ Bulk Deleting Multiple Products #
โ
Go to โ Products โ List Products
โ
Select multiple products using checkboxes โ
โ
Click on the “Bulk Actions” menu
โ
Select “Delete Selected”
โ
If any of the selected products have transactions, they will NOT be deleted.
๐ก Tip: If deletion is not possible due to transactions, consider deactivating the product instead.
๐ซ Deactivating Instead of Deleting #
If a product cannot be deleted due to transaction history, the best alternative is to deactivate it:
โ
Go to โ Products โ List Products
โ
Find the product and click “Deactivate”
โ
The product will no longer appear in POS or Sales Screens but will remain in records.
With BillBookโs Product Deletion & Deactivation, you can keep your inventory clean and organized while avoiding transaction-related issues! ๐๐ฆ
